This past Sunday, our community had their annual Chili Cook-off and my hubby really wanted me to enter my Cincinnatti Chili....so I agreed as long as he did the serving!! It was about 90 degrees outside..not exactly chili-eating weather, but we still had a good time!!
They do a really nice job organizing events in our community and always include the kids. This year....about 13 people enter the cook-off with 3 winners. Each person that eats paid $5, but all the money collected was used as a donation for the Chris Elliot Brain Cancer Research Fund (a previous resident of our community who died from brain cancer). And for $5 you could sample all the chili that you wanted!! T
There was a costume contest for the kids which Hopey and Joshua entered, but it was a tough job for the judges. They also had a silent auction and a wine tasting....needless to say by the time we got back home...we were exhausted!! We didn't win this year....but it was so much fun...I'm sure we'll be back again next time.
